SYNC Gallery presents: HORIZON LINES by Chad Henry
HORIZON LINES features recent paintings using acrylic paint, oil pastel and pencil, tape and other resist techniques to combine random patterns and intentional mark-making in the spirit of discovery. Each painting starts with a limited palette and a canvas overlaid numerous times with resist materials which are painted and drawn over and over again to create a patterned and textured surface.
Chad Henry works in collage and acrylic paint, exploring a variety of approaches to mark making. His interests and influences include Asian and Buddhist art, culture and philosophy, the natural world, music, and the spiritual/philosophical heritage of 20th Century art and artists. He studies with Jeffrey Wenzel and in the past with Homare Ikeda and others.
