Sync Gallery Presents: Helene Strebel
Helene Strebel Exhibition Statement
Helene Strebel primarily paints in her studio, rarely using reference material other than her own thoughts and dreams. She combines techniques of drawing and painting on paper and canvas surfaces.
Despite classical training, she strives to capture her own voice and personal style in her work.
Abstract art uses a visual language of shape, form, color and line to create a composition which my exist with a degree of independence. Abstraction indicates a departure from reality.
Helene’s work is open for interpretation, and that is one of the beautiful things about it. Conceptual art gives you the freedom to explore the artwork and assign your own meaning of a piece. Understanding conceptual art is easy; all it requires is an open mind and a big imagination.
